Allen Brown was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee as a 6th generation Nashvillian. He graduated from The Webb School in Bell Buckle, Tennessee and went on to graduate from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy. After college, he worked several years at various insurance companies as a workers' compensation claims adjuster. He also worked as a licensed property and casualty commercial insurance agent. He became a Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 31 listed mediator in 2004.
